Saw Rajniti finally, on Saturday night with two other ppl who had been spared the torture yet, and were eager to undergo some penance for their sins...

here are a few observations in the movie -

1. Either the guys were super-fertile...or the gals were from Species (remember? - "i can feel life") - do it one time, and they're preggy. :-|

2. If so many lives were taken in each election, i vouch for more elections...monthly elections even....population control method :D

3. All d guys were trying to kiss Ranbir Kapoor...seriously....the display of macho lowe was too much....but only his Dad managed to do so, @ d Airport...and then died. :-|

4. Nana Patekar must've paid a helluva amount in the production....he's not holding any post...he's simply an advisor...still everywhere, he is seen sitting on a chair higher than everyone else....wtf was he doing?? :P

5. Ajay Devgan was having either the loosies or piles while shooting for his first kabaddi scene....i mean...he was walking WIERDLY. and walking...not running or jumping.... :O u have to see it to understand what i m saying... :P

6. Ranbir Kapoor has consistently lost weight through the movie... :O

7. Kat's character is d stupidest in the movie..(mind you, also d hottest nevertheless)...and i simply can't fathom being a football, jo kick maare, us direction me chali gayi...way to go, for a Chief Minister i'd say :-|

8. WHY did they kill d hot firang chick? :( dayyam :(

9. When the car blasts apart, killing Arjun Rampal and Sarah Thompson, the whole bloody Merc is in chars, but the bodies of Arjun and Sarah are intact....save for a few burn marks... :O

10. Arjun Rampal can ACT. kudos to his performance.... :)

well, that and a few other things...but this is enough for now...

...iPhone...to be or not to be...

Let's start from the very beginning....

i was introduced to the concept of Apple around the beginning of this decade...yes, i did not know Mac et all...

i had seen an apple store somewhere near Pune Station...and was totally impressed with the glam look...the beautiful products....and was wondering....what makes them special??

10 years down, after endless reviews being read, technical magazines surveyed, all online crap read....and i m still asking the same question. :-|

i mean....wtf is wrong with so many people?????? :O

and sadly, one of my close friends is such a person....he's what i like to call an "apple-shaker"....no, he doesn't groove to apple's iTunes (R).....rather, apple makes him shake...and break....

yeah break....cuz d poor guy is So torn right now, that i simply can't express enough sympathy....and simply cannot fathom what it would take to empathize with him... ;)

well, it all started with d iPhone....a phone, multimedia device, and an ipod, all together!! woo-hoo!
suck my grandma's dog's @$$ idiots. :-|

this, when we already had awesome products in the market...Sony Ericsson were already hitting it big time with their walkman phones, and nokia (the mass seller in India), was almost warming up to consumer needs, and believe it or not, changing according to it!!

so what made the iPhone a game-changer then? the touch screen.

and of course, in my personal opinion, touch screens are a bag o dino crap. i mean...nothin does it like physical keys....i prefer something like this >>

cuz...well...that's what i can afford for now :P

anyway, back to the topic on hand...

then came other touch screen phones, loads of music phones, and of course, the mobile phone camera wars...what, with some companies even going to the extent of 12 mp cameras...i mean....really? :O

but recently, when the iPhone finally, officially came to India, it came at a time, when the iPhone 3gs was already launched in the Americas...which reminds me of a funny incident...

we were at a party, where one of my friends introduced her amriki fiance-to-be to us...and suddenly the lights went off...i promptly took out my phone, and switched on the torch at the back...and d amriki dude was like....which phone is that? we dont get such phones in d US...only d stupid iPhones are good enough...!!

and i was lol'ing...and roflmao'ing....of course, all in my mind... :P

anyway, so there...i got evidence from an iPhone user, that they are only using them for lack of better options...

but i m sure this guy was totally misinformed....and ignorant....cuz there ARE a ZILLION other options!!!

and here i wanna publish my current favorite image >>

see the android tattoo? :D

oh crap.....not dis one....who put d pic of d GF in me comp :-|

i actually meant this one >>

oh yeah!!!

since the beginning, Google has impressed me...and always given us more and more innovations...(although i wouldn't say that about Google Maps ...cuz according to it, u are required to swim across the atlantic for going to Paris from the US East Coast :P )

but believe me, the Android system is.....ah...i won't go into that...that will be a separate post...right now we are on apple-shakin' ;)

so, yeah...once the iPhone 3gs DID come to India, within a month, Mr.Jobbs decided to launch iPhone 4. :-|

and now my friend is again caught in the age long debate....to buy or not to buy.. :-|

well,i'd say, go out, buy the latest android phone, cuz as it is, android phones are providing better facilities, ugrades, and with the given variety of manufacturers using this platform, we are sure, you will find the one that suits you...

but still some fools will line up for the iPhone...

and the question comes back to me....what makes the phones special??

and i conclude...the people who buy them are special...they need our love and support...and care...

cuz u gotta be really demented to buy an apple product people!!!

are you reading this???

DON'T BUY iPHONES...they suck!

*whew*

now that that's outta my system...i shall go and buy a nice new android....or at least ogle at one... ;)

and here's some oglin' stuff for ya'll mortals to worship>>

HTC Centurion (a work in progress....hopefully should hit markets by Q4)

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

HTC Hero

Motocalgary Android

Blackberry Bold (Not an android...but BB....it's a class apart...)

of course, none of these other than the Xperia have been launched in India...but neither has the iPhone 4gs...so who's complaining? we ALL are. :-|

till next time...

Ironman 2

man oh man!! oh man!! :P

well, this is a DO NOT DARE TO MISS movie for action fans....and gadget geeks....and ppl who like to see scantily clad "attractive" female species......errr....BOYS...??!! :D

dayyam!!

totally kool flick....

scenes i loved -

1.i've successfully privatised world peace!!

2. hell-raiser scene @ f1 race.....and d comic edge to it, thanks to Robert Downey Jr.....and of curs the character that is Tony Stark...and a grand entry by whiplash..played by Mickey Rourke...man, this guy is awesome....loved his persona....dunno why, but found it damn attractive!! (maybe it was d tattoos....and NO, i m not turning gay :-| )

3. scene where hammer industries' "super weapon" goes....floop....P*WND!! :P

4.Drunken antics by tony stark, while wearing the suit....i can has the suit for a night? please.....pretty please? :P

5.new element discovery...gotta admit....a triangle looks much better placed than the round energy source...good thinking there scriptwriters... ;)

6. Scarlet Johansson's entry....*drool*....*bucket full a drool*.... :P

7. court scene where Tony through his ultra-cool see-through transparent phone, hacks d projector, and starts screwing Hammer Industries' image.....the phone looks somewhat like this >>

but me hates as to why they had to replace Terrence Howard with Don Cheadle for "Rhodey"s character....for a minute i was like...who's this guy? :O

and yes, as many have already said, lack of chemistry makes d romantic side of the film fizzle out completely...

but i would recommend this movie if >>

1.You're a guy.

2.u like sci-fi action flicks.

3.u like awesomestest gadgets etc...

4.you're a guy wit a beer belly, scratching ur bald head sitting at home on a saturday evening, wondering what to do after having ur n'th beer of d weekend...might help wit d pot belly too, me thinks....

:P

5. err...well....go cuz i said so!! :P

all in all, i'd give d movie a 4.5 stars out of 5....

yes, now m rating em too.....join in....even u can rate em....i don give a rotten egg fart bout it..... :D :P

this post does not even deserve the efforts to conjure an image of the biggest flop ever...MNIK. :-|

yes, i undertook the daunting task of braving the movie, as i needed to sacrifice in order to save my fellow-human-beings from mental trauma..!!

saw the movie

and it sucks. :-|

shahrukh...as i had mentioned in my earlier post .. has done a phenomenal job of NON-acting.

i mean...ftw...repeat a few words..stutter a bit...and u get a character with Asperger's Syndrome ...

yes, this is a character.

no intention to ridicule the actual patients suffering from it...an aggravated state of the disease can be pretty disturbing...

but shahrukh...well...ummm....yea..m gonna pass on this one :P

and also, kajol looks ok'ish...nothing to look forward to with all enthusiasm etc...i think we are very spoilt by the likes of Katrina and Kareena...and Deepika *ogle ogle* *slurp slurp*

but yea..the point being...kajol is passe...

she might act really well, but i find her way of laughter pretty irritating....the throaty laughter reminds me of a cousin..with whom...let us say, i do not relate any pleasant memories... ;) :P

and well, she could've given MUCH more...i mean, don't get me wrong...she has potential...but she just isn't able to open it up on screen...especially the scenes with tears and drama....the K-Jo speciality....asking for MUCH MUCH more....(of course, this part is for the benefit of those sicko's amongst you who like those sad, crying melodramas)

all in all, i would give MNIK a 1.5 out of 5 points.

n this time, Njoy Lyf by NOT watching this one....beleive me.... :P

indian cinema has arrived.

repeated proof in the third most brilliant movie of all times.

closely following 3 idiots and natrang..this movie is another one "DYING" to be heard and recognised...

is this a conspiracy??

are the industry-wallah's finally tired of making those dry , boring movies...the likes of "Luck"..."Blue"..."billoo (Barber)"....????

oh how i miss those times when we used to see a movie only once, n get bored enough to make sure all our worst enemies see the movie....

and at times also get out in the interval....during the first half even.... :P

nowadays these detail-crazy directors...i tell you...such eye for nuances....that every character has a meaning in the movie...???!!!!

i mean...who does that? huh? :P

jokes apart....

brilliant movie....comes with a review in "bullet form" from me....

1. Vidya Balan...hidden performance power-house...and PLEASE play more such roles...d sultry seductress...if eyes and expressions could kill......no more words needed... :D

2. Naseeruddin Shah...salute to the most talented actor of the Indian film industry....he's like the Chateau La Mission Haut Brion (1955)...a wine hidden for unknown reasons...but when it came out, there were connoisseurs who told fables of it's enticing taste....

3. Arshad Warsi...dude....u have finally come of age....playing the perfect majnu...and as usual, not to miss...perfect comic timing!!

4. The chemistry between the trio is spell-bounding...the "mama-bhatija-friends~ love-hate" relationship between Arshad and Naseeruddin.... एकदम सही !!!

5.Brilliant direction...kudos to Abhishek Chaubey..i can't believe it's his first film!! gotta get my facts right...totally gripping...and awesomely directed...strained really hard to find a fault in the direction...and i am sorry to declare...FOUND NONE. :D

6.liked the location of Verma's house...sweet cottage by the river...albeit totally disappointed you had to blow that beautiful place up...TWICE!! :P

7. i didn't even realise the function of "tai"...the granny wrapping a linel to a stick for making a wood-torch...be it day or night! eventually found out, that she was also there for a reason!! (readers, pls see the movie...i can't create any more suspense on my part to ignite your curiosity :P )

8.दिल तो बच्चा है जी .......वाह वाह ....क्या timing...क्या placement of the song.....loved it!

9. totally dissapointed that u had to remove the full length version of ibn-e-batuta... (or the theatre i saw the movie in, decided to shorten the film length by cutting it out :P )

* whew *

a totally awesome movie going experience...

only one regret.... YOU ARE SPOILING US!!!

you bloody better make equally good movies henceforth...i DO NOT want to go back to seeing movies only once....!!!

yes, i am planning on multiple viewings... :P

any interested parties are welcome to gimme a call :D

oh and a parting thought i want to share...

please do not go to the non-multiplexes with girls for this movie...or natrang...someone i know witnessed liquor consumption in the balcony seats...and the crowd is not so good...too many lewd gestures and harrassment happening....so beware!!!

and i shall continue humming......

दिल तो बच्चा है जी...............ssssssssssss

avatar....

ok. first things first.

jokes thought of during d movie... :D

1.d movie should've been named "I SEE YOU"....and the usual myriad jokes on the said dialogue followed...

2. for my marathi readers - te na'vi lok marathi hote....ugachach maramari kartana dar veli "aai--aai-aai--aiiii" nahi karat te!

3.for my hindi readers - unka bhagwan bihari tha.....jaise hum kehte hai na, "bilwa"..."sajanwa"...waise uska naam hai "ehwa" !!

:D :D

and now starts the real review!!

god damnit!!

wat a movie!!!

James Cameron boulders! ("rocks" is too small an expression)

hats off to the concept of the "connection"....one common interface for all vehicles!!

who'd thought 'bout that?

and yes, i am, as usual, just half hour into the time after the movie, so will abstain from comments...

but one thing's for sure...

you people HAVE to see the 3d version...

and a word of advice - take seats as close to the screen as possible....makes the VFX seem MUCH better :D

aalll eeezzz weeeellllll :D

what do you take from a movie?

well, normally i take home a plethora of emotions explored by me...sometimes they connect, sometimes they don't...

and at times, they BANG into me!! :D

this has happened twice till date...
1.on seeing kung-fu panda ;
2.on seeing 3 idiots. :D

word.

:P

well, i went as usual, not expecting anything from the book, 5 pt sm1, but over-excited with the 4.5 stars the Times of India Review gave it...

and i think it deserves a 6th star, let alone 4.5....jus like kung-fu panda....whose poster on the top ^^^ will soon have company... :D

god damnit!

exceeded expectations....and how! :D

argh!!!

m too stuck up in the experience right now, given that it's been only half hour after the movie....

let's see how long the feel-good bug stays with me after this one....

proper review soon....

until then....

aaallll eeezzzz weelll!!! :D

Jus saw d movie...

had gone 4 a reception, when some of dad's friends suddenly decided to go for d movie.
so we ended up running helter-skelter all over d city, in our Honda City [;)] in search of tickets...and ended up at Inox ka 10:30 show...

Osum movie....but it lacks somewhere....i m not yet able to put my finger on it....but will figure it out after listening to people's reviews...

climax scene is very...VERY endearing....one of those, when d females HAVE to cry...and a glob makes itself known in d guys' throats...(we can't cry, can we?)

i feel , somewhere down the line, it loses the viewers' attention during the first half...where it gets a bit slow....Balki couldn't keep d pace "snap-snap"...work needed in that area...

but other than that, a good watch...worth d money...and i really don't see why AB senior is getting applause, if he is getting any....cuz simply put, WE CAN'T SEE HIM!!

tiz purely bout Auro...and he stands up to the task smartly...i think the director cutthe movie too short....there is a HUGE scope for addition....character development....and chemistry display between all of the relations...

totally loved d way d granny, or "bum" as auro calls her...jus gathers the sense to start muttering marriage rites on auro's death-bed wish....takes loadsa experience and guts as well as a sound mind to be able to do that in real life...to jus gather all the logic you have in you, and start doing the important/essential task...when none else is in their senses....have seen such people, and admire them thoroughly....

again, as i said...relationships that could've been worked on - Auro-Bum, Mum-Bum, Paa-Auro...and the list goes on...

i pity the director's shortage of film reel....all characters were portrayed so well...and everyone jus "clicked"....but had it been a bit longer.....!!!!!!

is Mr.Balki reading this?

balki, mai kahunga, Paa part Two banao... ;)

kid cudi rockz!!

guys, no matter what you are doing, stop doing that, n get your hands on this CD...

Kid Cudi....Day n Night....this track is a t-rex proportions hit....and for good reasons too....what an album! :D

ugly truth

not so ugly...

movie proves that guys CAN have emotions too...

awesome movie....must watch....

i mean, for starters....Katherine Heigl....such great eye candy, that i can't even begin to describe her....tongue tied.. :D

i have always fancied her since she uncannily resembles Charlize Theron...whom m crazy for, since "the italian job"...especially d scene where she's cracking a safe in her hotel room...those who've seen it will know wat i'm talking about... ;)

(i apologise to my female readers for such comments, but you see, Katherine came a VERY close second to how awesome katz looked in ajab-ghazab..and i am, after all, human, innit? :D )

and well, i found the plot to be a typical one....not so good....i guess they don't make story writers as good as they used to...[anyone out there searching for a writer can gimme a call ;) ]

but yes, both Gerard Butler and Katherine have acted exceptionally well...with him playing the bad boy with a scruffy beard throughout the movie, and her doing the cute jumpy-dancy things throughout the movie...

and well, why would i watch the movie?

1.breaks the myth that guys r only looking for you-know-what.
2.makes girls think about their actions..as to what they are showing on the face...tell me,is it truly "you"...or are you showing me what i want to see?

ah...the all-time standing debate continues....you can't woo the person you like being yourself....and you can't get the one you like till you change into what he wants...

i guess we all end up with someone we never thought of getting hitched with, don't we, me fellow bloggers? ;)

hell, i ain't complaining as long as we both are happy....right? :D

but do see the movie.....worth a watch....download it even.... ;)

Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani...

Well,as d title suggests, the story DoeS have a chhotu...miniscule...ekdum cornish twist...that none says ''i love you''...what a twist!! wah wah!! ...well, almost..till d last scene...

But other than that d title is highly misleading...nothin too good bout d kahani...

it should've been "prem shankar sharma ke karname"....or something to the effect... ;)

D comic scenes and signature dialogues are something worth note though...

''look kya de raha hai...(xyz) kar''

''kya sahi dialogue tha...repeat karo??'' (following which, the dad actually repeats d dialogue...i mean...normally i wuda been like...wtf! but in that setting and with the follow up to it, it seems totally awesome!!)

two of d good ones...

Ranbir Kapoor has GoT to keep reinventing himself...cuz he's set d expectations a tad bit too high with his first slew of films...

Awesome comic timing...dare i say, reminiscent of the Legend, Mr.Chaplin, in his acting...This kid's gonna go a long way...

Of course,he has made me think he nurtures a strong cross-dressing fetish...wearing konkona's top in ''wake up sid'' and now Kat's top in this one...is he trying to tell us something..? That the next time you see a gal in a punjabi dress , it could be Ranbir..? Ek teer me do nishan types..1.get to mingle in d crowds, and 2.divulge in his fetish....(?)

but totally worth a watch,if you wanna laugh ur ass off...i almost fell off mine twice during the movie...the first kidnapping scene and d climax fight scene...

And d movie had no dearth of funny moments...''my'' kinda jokes...a.k.a pj's...and in all, feel good moments... :D

of course, the main reason I went is to see katrina...and was all tongue tied....darn it, those little bits of extra fat in d right places...ahem. Family blog...samajhdar Ko ishara kafi hai ;)

but yes, do see it...totally worth the 100/150/200 Rs. you spend, depending on ur location and choice of theatre ;)

and for my Puneite friends....one or two songs r shot in Camp...11 East Street Cafe...yes, you can see the double-decker....i was beginning to wonder when it will get recognition and feature in some movie... :D

so THAT was all d ruccus there, some 8-9 months ago...i had seen a jam on the intersection between east street and MG rd.... ;)

gawd! i wish i could see katz......* drool *

ahem. anyways...

Enzoi Laaeeff!! :D

UP

ah...what an awesome experience.....

this movie is surely worth a watch....and a ring...and much more jewellery...!! :D

well, the best part was the 3D effects....we all have seen chhota chetan when we were kids...but this one takes the cake....truly shows animation movies coming of age...and of course, technology refining itself to the finest....

seeing this movie brought back memories of my previous "surreal" movie-going experiences....there was chhota chetan of course....then there was the Imax Dome , in Mumbai...

where i have seen the movie made about the Everest...and another really scary one bout the underwater creatures....believe me, d one bout Mt.Everest was really awesome....especially the avalanche scene....ppl actually got up n tried to run...so real was the experience!

sadly, those of you who missed going there, can no longer enjoy the experience because of the concept's apparent failure....but let me tell you, i was really lucky to have experienced that....

plus, for all those of you who never did go there.....they gave off free candy! and popcorn!! and soft drinks!! during the show (haha....no way to find out now, if m tellin d truth..suckers!)

but well, coming back to the basic topic of conversation...

UP is brilliantly made...a different kind of story...
the most lovable character of course, being Russell...the 8 Yr old boy scout...in search of a task to help the elderly to get his last badge..and the last hurdle in becoming a "senior boy scout"..!

the best scene is the one where Russell is being chased by dogs...and it gets very real when one really fierce lookin doberman dog comes almost an inch away from him, jaws open...tryin to snap him into pieces....made my friends jump in their seats... :D

but an awesome film...must watch.....and only in 3d pls....nowhere else will justice be done to it....

Love Aaj Kal...

a review...

awesome movie....IF u r able to ignore the unreal things in it....

i mean, it gives wrong hope to the losers, who think they can get back with that someone they lost...whereas wat i believe is, once u decide to separate, there's no going back....there's a Ross n Rachel only in sitcoms...

but i cant get over Deepika....i mean...she cant act..at all..but damn, is she beautiful or what!!! was ogling at her like a kid looking at candy...(with similar intentions in mind)...AHEM.

and well, as one o my frenz said, d people in their 40s look awesome! i mean...i am not one to compliment d male stars...but Saif...a class apart....awesome acting...wonderful dancing...and even better looks....

me and my friends made a few observations....interesting ones...and some pretty funny..

1.Meera calls Jai to talk to him, just after the wedding...and Jai ends up blabbering for the next 10 minutes, and goes away...same as is d case through out d movie...i mean, i know she cant speak well...but koi toh dialogue diya hota Deeps ko? :P

2.Meera realises that something is wrong with her marriage to dat loser guy(don rem. d name of d character) , in the morning, AFTER d suhaag raat....i think she found discrepancies in performaing capacities of Jai and d guy....and then found out...oh no! Jai was much better!!! :P

3. NO story beats that of Harleen and Veer....totally makes you nostalgic...and makes you wanna live in that era of sharam-haya.....loved d part where he tells d order of activity.....pyar>>izehaar>>bagawat>>shaadi.....awesome, no?

4. irony....deepika shown as d most logical and practical person in the world, in the first half....n she only waits like a fool, for Saifu to "realise"..."on his own"...and then come to her....ummm...well...argh!!! :P is this is wat love turns you into....god bless... ;)

5.Deepika....i mean, i love ur looks n all....but PLEASE learn acting...come to FTII even...i got some contacts on d inside there...maybe i can catch her in d midst of a shoot, and work my charms on her..... :P

and i just cracked d joke of d century!!! :D :P

but on d whole, dimaag baju me rakhke deepika ko dekhne k liye good movie.... :D

NjoY LyF!!! :D
