on the road called life...
to ride our own bikes...with determination we are strife....

we go through all the pot-holes with well-practised precision..
it's on the forks that give us options, that we are defined..by our decision...

whilst some prefer riding alone...
it's their karmic corner...their own private zone...

others search for affiliates...
accomplices on the boulevard to the pearly gates...

some ride it slow and easy..
others border on delirious...to downright crazy..!!

while i try to fit in...on my different bike, riding along in my own unique way...
i find out one day...that i am ... here to stay!!

this post does not even deserve the efforts to conjure an image of the biggest flop ever...MNIK. :-|

yes, i undertook the daunting task of braving the movie, as i needed to sacrifice in order to save my fellow-human-beings from mental trauma..!!

saw the movie

and it sucks. :-|

shahrukh...as i had mentioned in my earlier post .. has done a phenomenal job of NON-acting.

i mean...ftw...repeat a few words..stutter a bit...and u get a character with Asperger's Syndrome ...

yes, this is a character.

no intention to ridicule the actual patients suffering from it...an aggravated state of the disease can be pretty disturbing...

but shahrukh...well...ummm....yea..m gonna pass on this one :P


and also, kajol looks ok'ish...nothing to look forward to with all enthusiasm etc...i think we are very spoilt by the likes of Katrina and Kareena...and Deepika *ogle ogle* *slurp slurp*

but yea..the point being...kajol is passe...

she might act really well, but i find her way of laughter pretty irritating....the throaty laughter reminds me of a cousin..with whom...let us say, i do not relate any pleasant memories... ;) :P

and well, she could've given MUCH more...i mean, don't get me wrong...she has potential...but she just isn't able to open it up on screen...especially the scenes with tears and drama....the K-Jo speciality....asking for MUCH MUCH more....(of course, this part is for the benefit of those sicko's amongst you who like those sad, crying melodramas)

all in all, i would give MNIK a 1.5 out of 5 points.

n this time, Njoy Lyf by NOT watching this one....beleive me.... :P

i wish to pray for peace to the innocent lives in the blast that took place on 13-02-2010..

may all their souls rest in peace...and God Bless the troubled souls who brought this about, to avoid any such future incidents...

why this big issue over MNIK??

for starters i am of the staunch opinion that this was one big publicity stunt....gone VERY wrong :P

this is what REALLY happened ...

Sept. 2009 :- SRK starts with MNIK shoot...totally confident on pulling the crowds on SRK appeal and the current trend of cashing-in on physical and mental disabilities in movies...

Dec.2009 :- PAA releases....not such a huge hit...

at the same time, SRK realises...if AB with all that hours and hours of expensive and treacherous-to-put-on make-up and brilliant acting (although i decline giving AB any credit for acting , as in this post of mine) can't make it...how in hell am i gonna make a hit with such lousy looks and anybody-can-shake-like-that-what's-so-great-about-SRK's acting....???!!!!

Jan. 2009 :- SRK : "idea! i will create a media storm about my movie and make a great deal outta something that is sure to irk these stupid politicians....what better than our most talked-about topic...pakistan! "

Feb 2009 :- post-yesterday night... SRK : "this is NOT good...NOT GOOD!!"

knowing how tech-savvy and gadget-crazy he is, m sure SRK musta pressed the "oh shit" button on his apple notebook :-

and most of all, i feel these people should've let the film release...i m sure it would've run for two weeks on "SRK mania" and then gone kapoosh....fladoosh....and blamoosh! vanished! :P

this is one flop marketing gig for a flop movie :P

but most imp of all, in all of this bull crap, aren't precious media, govt., security etc resources being wasted? public and private property being damaged?

but then...we are not new to this in our GREAT country.

another boring wedding...

wtf's up with these weddings man!! :(

^^ this is exactly how i feel 2 d thought of another wedding ^^

yes, and i am, of course, with the belly et all. :P

except, i am not as cute as d kid...m WAY hotter...!!

alright...alright.. quit laughing at anything i write, will you? :P

so i attended another one of these...and even my worst experiences hadn't prepared me for this double-triple-whammy of a goof-up and irritation-inciter!! :O

ok, to give you a general background..

weddings in Pune...or any other rural setting (yes, Pune is still rural in terms of marriage ceremonies), tend to have a liberal showering of "सत्कार"s...or honorarium of the present dignitaries..

dignitaries present and honoured at the hands of senior family members, will range from local politicians , to the super-bosses of the groom / bride...

as also, our "Maratha" weddings, are known for their punctually running late, of the "auspicious time" by a minimum of half hour....upto 2 hours late. :-|

so, this one was scheduled at 6 p.m. and i was at home at 5.45 p.m.

yes, i reached d venue, which was a good 20 km away, at 6:30, and witnessed d "बारात" about half a kilometre before the venue...and winked to mom, who was getting hyper lest we miss the marriage time, saying > "i'd told you so...." :P

and here is an illustration of how a typical बारात looks.. :P

and then came the real shocker! :O

as usual, the already-late ceremony, was delayed by another half hour , due to the "सत्कार" shit happening...during which i was like >>

and then, FINALLY they started the  मंगलाष्टका ...

and lo and behold!!

after just two of the 7 मंगलाष्टका s were over, they stopped it...for ..... yes, you guessed it.....ANOTHER round of "सत्कार"s... :O

i was too shocked, flabbergasted, and laughin my effin a$$ off after that... :P
